Business License:
The Current Business License Ordinance adopted by the Lyman Town Council, on September 14, 1998, and amended February 2, 2009 requires the verification of gross sales receipts with the submission of your 2008 Federal Tax return. Any discrepancies on the part of the business will be subject to fine or penalty.
Be sure to include your social security number and/or federal identification number and the name of the business as reported on the South Carolina income tax return. Business license fees run on a calendar year and are due on or before April 15th.
The license fee is based on the gross sales receipts for the preceding calendar or fiscal year. The fee for your class can be calculated from the following table. If you have any questions or if you are applying for a New Business License, you will need to call 864-485-0402 for your class number.

Hospitality Tax:
On December 7, 2009, Lyman Town Council passed an Ordinance establishing a two percent (2%) local hospitality tax on prepared meals and/or beverages. The taxes are imposed on gross proceeds. The ordinance states that all affected businesses shall be responsible for collecting local hospitality taxes beginning, March 1, 2010. Read more...
