Lyman, South Carolina

The trail is built on the right-of-way of the Old Springs/Pacific mill railroad tracks that wound through the old mill village.  Parking for the trail is available in the former mill parking lot located at the intersection of Pacific Street and Community Street here in Lyman, behind Town Hall (81 Groce Road) and beside the Lyman Amphitheater.  You may park in the lot and then take the sidewalk that runs along Community Street to the crosswalk to cross Spartanburg Road.  This path leads you directly onto the trail.

The first phase of this rail trail opened in April 2017 and provides safe and convenient pedestrian access to Lyman’s commercial center. While it is new, it is already  well-used. The trail  serves a dual purpose: recreation, for walkers, joggers and cyclists, and transportation for residents going downtown to run errands or carry out business. These dual purposes will be enhanced as the trail is extended from its current half-mile span between Lawrence Street and Old Spartanburg Highway.

The trail is child and pet friendly!  We do have a pet waste station available for your convenience.  We invite you to come out and enjoy the trail with your family, bring your bicycles, pets, scooters or skates and enjoy the beautiful walk through historic Lyman.  Stay tuned for updates as our Rail Trail will be growing by leaps and bounds very soon!
